Willow Glaze Snakeskin

One of my latest designs, Willow Glaze Snakeskin is an award winner! It placed 23rd out of 1386 entries in Spoonflower’s “New Animal Prints” design challenge!

I’m in the midst of working on a new textile collection for Jeanne Nuage dance wear by designer Jennifer Tierney. The theme for the new collection is inspired by blue and white Willow pattern pottery. It’s going to be gorgeous. Stay tuned.

As I was working up my technique to get the appearance of hand-painted glaze I used Spoonflower’s “New Animal Prints” prompt for practice… each and every scale I meticulously hand-painted with layered effects in Procreate. The final design is a seamless repeat that hovers between real-life snakeskin and painted porcelain.
