Join us at The Nerman Museum for a Tarot Study Hall led by Laura Pensar of Moth & Candle; drop in to The Salon for Possible Futures with your Tarot questions or just come and get some practice with the cards. Laura is an experienced Tarot reader with over 35 years of card experience; she will be on hand to work with any level of Tarot practitioner and will offer exercises and tips for expanding your own practice. Free Tarot 101 class at Kansas City Public Library, Central Branch… Ever wondered what makes a Tarot deck unique? And how exactly do you use one to answer questions and gain insight? In this class we will discuss the origins of the Tarot, its structure, and how to start interpreting the cards right away!

“Spreads” are layouts that give Tarot cards context in a reading. Learn the basics of working with various Tarot spreads and leave class with several simple spreads you can use immediately.

The Fool’s Journey: What story is buried in the traditional Tarot deck’s fifth suit? Learn about the archetypes as we follow The Fool on his journey through the Tarot’s Major Arcana. No Tarot experience necessary.
Class: Intro to Tarot
Learn to use a deck of Tarot cards as a part of a contemplative practice. This workshop aims to supply you with enough foundational history and tools for you to begin working with the cards right away.
